DBT WILL HELP YOU DEVELOP

DIALECTICAL BEHAVIOR THERAPY (DBT)

Building super effective ways to manage strong emotions, DBT is an evidence based practice used with adults and adolescents. Effective for helping with general or severe anxiety, depression, self harm and suicidality, DBT puts a lot of tools in your tool box to help you live a more joyful, smooth life.

It’s like having a playbook that teaches you how to have more balanced relationships and life experiences. The skills you will learn will help build self awareness, improve communication skills and allow you to  see other people’s points of view while increasing your own self respect and confidence in the world.

Depending on what your presenting issue  is, what you are dealing with you can start learning and using DBT skills after our first appointment.

I use a  DBT-informed treatment method because it helps clients with a wider range of presenting problems.

When you learn DBT skills and add them to your tool box you can: manage relationship issues better, become a more confident communicator, become more self assured in social situations, set good boundaries, and handle stress and anxiety in a really positive way.

Standard DBT takes anywhere from 6 months to 1 year to really master. There are a lot of skills to learn, practice and implement. They are great and very effective and standard DBT is an evidence based treatment for Borderline Personality, suicidality, self harm and for people who have a more extreme or volatile reaction to life events, often because their emotions feel overpowering.
